Usage:

The Canon PowerShot A480 has a simplified button layout, with special individual buttons mode, playback and zoom. It has an easy user interface and is easy to carry along as well as to operate. The 3.3x optical zoom allows for the flexible framing of shots while up to 4x digital zoom allows the user to zoom in afterwards. It has a pre-programmed two or ten second timer, however users are allowed to change the timer seconds as per their desire. only 140 grams. Its dimensions are as follows 3.6 x 2.4 x 1.2 in (92 x 62 x 31 mm). It has a 2.5 inch LCD screen with an inbuilt image inspection device that checks the focus. It has a minimum resolution of 640×480 and a maximum of 3648×2736.

Settings:

The Canon PowerShot A70 provides the user 15 different shooting modes which allows the user to immediately get the right common scenes settings. The options for scene modes provided are - sunset, indoor, foliage, kids and pets, beach, snow, long shutter, super macro, fireworks, night snapshot, portrait, aquarium. One can also change the option to the movie mode and easily record video clips having a rate of up to 30 frames per second. One can easily upload the photographs and video clips taken to the web or share it via the 2.5 inch LCD screen. The white balance is pre-set to auto, however one can change to - cloudy, fluorescent, daylight, tungsten, incandescent, or to manual; as per their requirements. The ISO sensitivity is also pre-set to the automatic mode. The video is saved in the AVI format, using the motion JPEG technology and the audio in WAVE files.

Memory and Battery:

Since the PowerShot A70 derives its power from AA batteries, users don’t need to find a power source, which is perfect for wilderness trips. However an optional AC adapter kit ACK800 is provided. Storage options offered are - internal / SDHC / SC / MMC / MMCplus. A 32 MB memory card is provided along with the camera, however users are strongly advised to purchase a memory of at least 1 GB (the higher the better) along with the camera since the photographs taken are of a very high quality it tends to take up space. Don’t get too worried about storage; extra memory is pretty cheap. Alternatively, you could simply upload the pictures to you computer on a regular basis. That way, you can store all the extra pictures from you camera on your PC, and therefore, free up tons of space on your camera.
